Advanced Clinical Massage — The Jing Method

60 or 90 minutes From £75

What is The Jing Method?

The Jing Method is an advanced approach to clinical massage developed by the Jing Institute of Massage. It goes beyond standard massage by combining multiple evidence-based techniques into a single, integrated treatment. This is not a generic massage — it’s a sophisticated, targeted approach to resolving pain and dysfunction.

The Jing Method draws on:

  • Deep tissue massage — working through layers of muscle to release chronic holding patterns
  • Trigger point therapy — deactivating specific points that refer pain to other areas
  • Myofascial release — addressing the connective tissue network that surrounds and supports muscles
  • Acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine principles — working with the body’s energy pathways
  • Hot stones and thermal techniques — used strategically to soften tissue and enhance treatment depth

What Makes It Different?

Most massage treatments focus on relaxation or general muscle work. The Jing Method is different because it’s assessment-driven. Before we begin, I’ll assess your posture, movement, and areas of pain to build a clear picture of what’s happening in your body. The treatment is then tailored specifically to address your patterns of tension and pain.

This makes it particularly effective for:

  • Chronic neck and shoulder pain — especially from desk work
  • Lower back pain — including sciatica-like symptoms
  • Headaches and migraines related to muscle tension
  • Frozen shoulder and rotator cuff issues
  • Repetitive strain injuries
  • Fibromyalgia and chronic pain conditions
  • Stress-related physical symptoms

What to Expect

A Jing Method session typically lasts 75-90 minutes to allow time for assessment and thorough treatment. I’ll begin by discussing your symptoms, looking at your posture, and identifying the areas that need attention.

The treatment itself may include a combination of techniques — you might experience deep pressure, sustained holds on trigger points, slow fascial stretches, and warming techniques. It can be intense but should never be unbearable. Communication is key, and I’ll check in with you throughout.

Many clients report significant improvement after just one session, but for chronic conditions, a course of treatments typically delivers the best results.

Why I Specialise in Jing

I chose to specialise in the Jing Method because I saw the limitations of treating every client with the same approach. The Jing Method gave me the tools to truly understand what’s causing someone’s pain and to treat it effectively. It’s the treatment I recommend for anyone who’s tried “regular” massage and not found lasting relief.
