Deep Tissue Massage
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage uses firm, sustained pressure to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It’s particularly effective for releasing chronic muscle tension, breaking down adhesions (knots), and restoring range of motion.
Who is it For?
This treatment is ideal if you:
- Carry chronic tension in your neck, shoulders, or back
- Sit at a desk for long hours
- Experience stiffness or restricted movement
- Want targeted work on specific problem areas
What to Expect
After a consultation to understand your needs, I’ll use a combination of broad slow strokes, followed by specific & detailed work on the areas that need attention. Some people find deep tissue work intense — but when delivered with skill and sensitivity, should never feel forceful or overwhelming.
I take a progressive approach—carefully preparing and warming the tissues before working deeper. Through a blend of techniques, including myofascial release and trigger point therapy, I support the release of persistent tension in a way that is both effective and deeply respectful of your system.
You may feel some soreness for a day or two after the session, which is completely normal if you have been experiencing acute or chronic pain prior to the session. Drinking plenty of water and gentle stretching will help.
